Speaking about her post-partum body, Georgia, 30, who welcomed baby Brody in May, said that while she "freaked out" at first, less pressure should be placed on new mums to 'bounce back' after birth.
"THE REALITY... all I heard when I was pregnant was 'you'll bounce back' you're young etc... It got in my head & I prob did think I would to an extent... So you can imagine the first time I looked in the mirror 8 weeks ago I'm not going to lie... I freaked out," Georgia wrote.
"My body wasn't my body I was used to no more, I had big stretch marks, I am wider & obviously a c section scar, I remember just crying... NOW 8 weeks on this is me.. Iv done no exercise & ate what I want, when I can... I now look at my body & im proud, I'm proud I have grown a beautiful healthy baby, im proud I have got through the first 8 weeks.
"But of course I would love to get in my nice size 10 Zara bits but that can wait for now, im giving myself minimum a year , for now I'm focusing on me & my baby. So BOUNCE BACK? the only place I'm bouncing to is TO BED to sleep when I can.
"Let's stop using these phrases to women!! yes you will come out of hospital with a bump still - it's taken us 9 months to grow a baby, why are we expecting our bumps to go straight away?
"Let's just encourage mum to look after them self , there mental health & there babies , let's stop adding more pressure on women , it's hard enough! I hope being honest will help any other mummies know this is the normal."
And friends and followers were quick to praise Georgia for being so open and honest about motherhood, with fellow mum Lucy Mecklenburgh commenting: "Literally can't stand the phrase 'bounce back' either! Our bodies are bloody amazing!
"How we grow a human for 9 months then repair & recover while sleep deprived is just incredible no new mum should feel any other pressure at this time.
"Eat, nap, baby cuddles... repeat every body & baby is different so we have to try not to compare our journeys x
well done for this refreshingly honest post beauty x."
Meanwhile another said: "I fu**ing love you !!!!!! Do you actually realise how many women you are going to help by posting this !!!! What a legend ! Ps you still look absolutely amazing!"
We think Georgia looks incredible and is doing the most amazing job! This will help so many mums.
