But new research from Genealogy website, MyHeritage has found that the duo are actually distant cousins IRL.
And... er... now our brains hurt, tbh.
Yep, the website has discovered the acting duo, who play the Bings, are actually 11th cousins, sharing members English couple William Osbern Haskell III and Ellen Haskell, who wed in the UK around 500 years ago.
Ellen then emigrated to America in 1635 with her two sons, Roger and William, which explains the link to the Friends pair.
Experts who work for the website state that William is a direct ancestor of Matthew Perry, 51, while Roger is a direct ancestor of Courteney, 56.
And that's not all! Both the Monica and Chandler stars are also loosely related to Lady Gaga.
Anyone else wish she made it down to the Bing wedding, now?!
Roi Mandel, the head of research at MyHeritage, told CNN: "We went into this line very deeply, we checked every name.
"We found a lot of records that support it, and we have confidence that they are related."
While it might seem improbable that the pair just happen to be related, the expert added: "This is not such a surprise. It makes sense that when you go so many generations back, the chances of people being connected are higher".
Reacting to the news, one Friends fan wrote: "Omg I'd be horrified".
While another penned: "That's... .... ...awkward."
"Um- are my eyes working properly??," another stunned fan wrote after spotting reports of the actors' relation.
Matthew and Courteney star alongside Jennifer Aniston, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc and David Schwimmer in the sitcom, which is airing its long awaited reunion today.
Friends: The Reunion will be hosted by James Cordon, and will see the cast reflecting on their memories from filming all 10 seasons of the show, and looking back on their favourite moments.
Pssst, James, ask Matthew and Courteney about their link to Lady Gaga, please!
