Dani Dyer fears she had postnatal depression after welcoming her baby son Santiago earlier this year.

The new mum - who has been candid about motherhood with her followers - spoke on the Sorted with the Dyers podcast she hosts with her dad and EastEnders hardman Danny Dyer.

The former Love Island star said she began to worry after 'not feeling herself' for a couple of days.

Danny said: "This has been a f***ing long, cold, hard winter this one. And if you're the strongest cat out there then you're struggling now."

"It's been awful," said Dani.

"The other day I was really struggling, I had a couple of days where I made a shepherd's pie but I just felt so down.

"And I think when you've just had a baby you really start worrying, thinking, 'Am I suffering with a bit of postnatal depression?'

"I know this sounds weird but I made a shepherd's pie but it was like I wasn't making it.

"I had a couple of days of just really not feeling me and then I went on a walk and I felt back to myself. I felt so low."

Dani spoke out on vile messages she has received from trolls since becoming a mother.

She revealed all on the Made By Mammas: The Podcast with Zoe Hardman and Georgia Dayton on Tuesday, confessing some of the messages she receives really "hurt".

"Some people are like 'oh I bet you're used to it because your dad was in the public eye', but I was like 'no, because the comments were never directed towards me,'" she explained.

"My dad would get trolling and all negative [stuff] but because it wasn't me I thought all that stuff was bizarre.

"When it's your dad, it's pathetic what they're saying, but when it's actually you, it hurts."

Dani went on to detail some of the messages she'd received: "Now, as a mother, you do get messages from women that aren't helpful, they're not supportive and they say things that you think 'I don't really need this right now.'

"Sometimes they can be helpful saying 'my baby did this', or 'I did that', but when they're just really rude it's not helpful.

"I remember putting him in a coat and I took him on a little walk, I thought 'oh he looks cute let me take a picture of him in the car seat while he's sleeping,' and I had messages off women saying 'you're going to make him suffocate, he's going to overheat in the car.

"'If you have a car crash he's not going to be safe, he's not going to be protected in a car crash'. I thought 'oh my God why are you even saying that to me?' Chill out! I've had a lot of that."

Dani welcomed Santiago - who she shares with boyfriend Sammy Kimmence - back in January.
