Alex Bain, who plays Simon Barlow in Coronation Street, has denied rumours that he has split up with pregnant girlfriend Levi Selby...
Both parents-to-be are 16-years-old, and are expecting a little girl in December. Levi announced the news on social media by posting a picture of her 12-week scan.
However the teen couple were thought to have split up following another Facebook post from Levi which read: "'Me and my little girl from now on!! Can't wait to start my life with her."
Levi's friends left supportive messages with on person saying: "It's all gunna be okay, don't waste any sleep over it cuz it's not worth the stress."
Another said: "The baby can probably feel what you're feeling and she doesn't deserve it, neither do you. Always here if you need a talk."
A third assured her" "Don't need no one else, you'll be a great mamma to that little princess."
However Alex has now put those rumours to bed with a Facebook post saying: "For all those wondering, I'm still with my girlfriend Levi, and I honestly cannot wait for my little baby girl to arrive! I cant wait to have my own little family!"
A source close to the actor told The Sun: "They've been through a bad patch but are now stronger than ever and so excited to meet their baby.
Apparently the couple has also decided to call their baby girl Lydia-Rose.
The source said: "It feels even more real now they've got a name. They just want to shout it from the rooftops.
"Alex has been telling everyone he's going to be a father. He isn't keeping it a secret. It's hard to tell if he's happy about it or not but he's definitely not ashamed of it."
Alex has played Simon Barlow on Coronation Street for 10 years now since joining the soap in 2008.
He has won two awards over the years - Best Young Performance at The British Soap Awards in 2011 and Best Young Performance at the Inside Soap Awards in 2012.
