Charlotte Dawson has been forced to speak out after 'mum-shamers' criticised her for leaving her phone charger too near her baby's cot.

The reality TV star, 28, has been sharing her experience as a first-time-mum on social media, since welcoming her son Noah, who she shares with partner Matt Sarsfield, last month.

And while most of her fans have thanked her for taking the with on the journey, there have been a few who seized the opportunity to criticise her for the way she's caring for the newborn.

Telling the Ex On The Beach star it was "dangerous" to leave the three-week-old child in a crib with a charger behind him, several trolls took it upon themselves to message Charlotte on Instagram and tell her off.

Sharing a video on the app, in which she addressed the critics, Charlotte said: "There have been so many messages about that video that I put on with Noah in his cot and the charger in his cot, slightly...nowhere near him because I was charging my phone literally for two minutes.

"And I went like that [motions to suggest she moved the charger] and then took it straight back out."

Understandably fed up at the backlash, the reality star continued: "Honestly, people need to shut up.

"I'm not stupid, like I'm not an idiot like honestly, chuff off."

Charlotte announced she was pregnant in August - one month before she and Matt confirmed their engagement.

Matt proposed to Charlotte in last September, sweetly getting down on one knee outside a statue of Charlotte's late father, comic Les Dawson, at Memorial Park in Lytham St Annes, Lancashire.

Charlotte has always held a deep love and admiration for her father, who sadly died when she was young.

The fact her son is an Aquarius star sign, like his grandfather, is something the reality star says is "really special" to her.
