She might have been the name on everyone's lips a couple of months ago, but after revealing her animal sanctuary Big Cat Rescue was struggling recently, Carole Baskin has resorted to selling video messages to fans.

Yep, the Netflix star, 59, is selling off 30 second messages on platform Cameo, and is happy to record "any kind of greeting" in return for payment.

Speaking in an intro video, the 'Mother Teresa of cats' said: "Hey all you cool cats and kittens. I'm happy to record any kind of greeting for a birthday or anniversary or any kind of encouraging message to the animal lover in your life.

"I hope at the end you will let me ask them to make the call of wild at BigCatAct.com so we can save those cats and cubs. Love you."

Reports suggest Carole made somewhere around $20,000 (£15,990) in her first day on the video sharing app.

And it's not hard to see how. A message from the animal activist - promised within seven days of requesting - doesn't come cheap, costing $199 (£165.19) a pop.

But, despite the hefty price tag, there seem to be enough Tiger King fans willing to fork out, seeing as she has 73 five star reviews on the platform, from happy customers thanking her for the recordings.

Example messages on her Cameo range from pep talks to birthday greetings to PR shoutouts for bars and restaurants.

Her Cameo profile reads: "You know me as 'Tiger King' Joe Exotic's intended murder victim but my real life's work has been at Big Cat Rescue for a world where all wild cats live free.

"Please be a voice for cats: BigCatAct.com".

The news comes as Carole has also recently been awarded Joe Exotic's former zoo, despite the fact they're arch enemies.

It was reported back in June that a federal judge had granted Carole - along with her company Big Cat Rescue - full control of the zoo, most recently under the leadership of Jeff Lowe.

As anyone who has watched the Netflix doc, Tiger King will know, Carole and Joe's feud was played out on screen, with the pair engaging in a long and dramatic rivalry over the course of many years.

It finally came to a close when Joe was sentenced to 22 years in jail for two counts of murder-for-hire plots against the animal rights activist.
