Cara De La Hoyde and Nathan Massey welcomed their second child this week - a little girl, whose name they are yet to announce.

And following the birth, Love Island star Cara, 30, has been praised for being so honest when discussing new motherhood, speaking of the joys, but also the slightly less glamorous parts of the whole experience.

Taking to Instagram after the little one was born, the reality star shared a snap of herself cuddling her newborn daughter alongside her two-year-old son Freddie-George.

"I may look shattered but I am so in [heart emoji] right now," she wrote. "P.s reality of a new mum bleeding, back ache, sore nipples & still looking pregnant no one tells you these bits (but it's so worth it)".

She then took a snap of her post pregnancy baby bump and shared it on her Instagram story.

Standing in just a pair of knickers with her bump still protruding, she wrote: "The reality of having baby (sic)".

Taking to the comments under Cara's most recent post, fans clearly related to her candid approach to posting in the aftermath of the new arrival, and chipped in to share their own anecdotes, too.

"Congratulations!," wrote one. "We're 7 weeks in with number 2 and WOW, I'd forgot what having a newborn was like?! I feel your pain Mama! They are so worth it though xx"

While another added: "Omg so true! I felt like someone has beat me up with a bat after I got home and all my pain killers have worn off but it was all so worth it".

A third penned: "Omg the after pains after my second was so bad it was worse then the labour pain".

As another mum chipped in: "No one tells you Them bits! My 3rd is 1week old and I still look like I'm pregnant to the point everyone is asking me if I am pregnant again (sic)".

Seems like Cara's honesty has really struck a chord.

Good for her for showing the realities of motherhood - painful nipples and all!
