Abbie Quinnen was joined by fellow burns survivors Katie Piper, Sylvia Mac and Rochelle Barrett in a powerful Instagram post to 'normalise scars'.

The post comes after Abbie and her boyfriend, former Strictly star AJ Pritchard, appeared on ITV's Lorraine on Wednesday in a segment about body positivity.

During the segment, Abbie spoke openly about her life-altering scars from a freak accident six months ago, when a YouTube tutorial on how to turn a wine bottle into a vase, which involved dipping a rope into a chemical, wrapping it around the bottle and lighting it, went horribly wrong.

Katie Piper also appeared in the segment and now both have shared pictures from when they met each other, and the other incredible women who spoke about their burns.

The 24-year-old performer wrote in the caption: "Was such a special moment meeting these three incredible ladies! Definitely a moment I will never ever forget! Thank you for making me feel so comfortable around you all and for sharing your stories with me! Let's continue to normalise scars!! We can do this!!"

The caption was accompanied by a picture of all four women proudly raising their fists in the air, with Abbie, Sylvia and Rochelle all wearing bathing suits.

Katie Piper, who underwent pioneering surgery after an acid attack by her ex-boyfriend and an accomplice caused major burns and blindness in one eye in 2008, also posted a picture with Abbie and gave a shout out to the "wonderful, strong" women they met.

"Both Rochelle and Sylvia suffered burns as children, meaning they had to learn to navigate life with a visible difference a young age and have both now reached a place of confidence and self acceptance," she said.

"I took Abbie long to meet these incredible ladies and hear their stories and to hopefully be inspired to see that there is life after burns."

In the Lorraine segment, Abbie showed her daily routine for treating her burns and explained the extensive treatments she's undergoing to help her skin recover.
