Women Are Proving There's No Such Thing As A Man's Job

We love to see it.

Women are taking to Facebook to prove there's no such thing as 'a man's job'. Writing on social media, one mum shared an image of her daughter on her first day in her new job, as a fully qualified joiner.

The mum wrote: "For all that said... 'What does she want to be a joiner for? She's a girl.'

"'It will be impossible for her to get a job in this day especially being a female.'

"'She won't stick at it'.

"My baby's Snapchat at 5am this morning on her first day on-site at her new full time job. As a fully qualified joiner climbing the scaffolding and smashing the roofs out.

"You did it my girl. I am bursting with pride. I could literally cry."

And ever since the proud mum shared the post, others have been commenting with their own stories, proving that there's actually no such thing as a 'man's job'.

One wrote: "I'm a broadband engineer and the amount of customers that say they didn't expect a female engineer."

While another said: "Good for her, that's fantastic. I started as a builder's daughter and worked my way up in a male dominated industry for 15 years - I've been site manager, project manager and contract manager and have more qualifications than half those blokes.

"Keep your head held high - women are taking a solid front in the construction industry."

Meanwhile one woman who works in construction also commented: "You go girl. On our sites we now have breastfeeding-friendly rooms if there is any pumping ladies on site, we no longer allow the ladies' toilet to double up as the cleaning cupboard and we also provide sanitary products on each site. Women in construction really is taking off!"

Another proud mum shared a photo of her daughter, adding: "At just 4ft 11 my daughter is training to become one of the first few female infantry soldiers in the British Army."

Meanwhile, one site manager said she couldn't wait to show her colleagues the Facebook post in the morning.

"So, so happy to see ladies doing a 'man's job'. I'm a site manager and all the time I hear that 'you don't see many women on site' like we don't belong.

"I will show everyone this post tomorrow! GIRL POWER!"
