But unbelievably, such a place exists as close as Belgium - and it's currently taking bookings.
Pairi Daiza, located in the Belgian province of Hainaut, is a zoo and botanical garden which is set apart from the rest thanks to its unique stays.
Located in the heart of the park is a resort with a host of incredible immersive lodges that allow you to actually sleep among the animals.
One of the most impressive has to be The Walrus House which features a half underwater glass wall allowing you to come face-to-face with incredible animals.
The cosy open-plan lodge features a sleeping area, living area and bathroom decorated with Arctic white walls and ice motifs give you the feeling of being in the walrus's icy habitat all while being snuggled and warm.
"The blues, whites and greys of the materials and fabrics give your room an icy look, while their quality and softness ensure there's no compromise on comfort," says Praia Daiza.
"You'll also love the beautiful bedside tables and desk top in genuine white onyx. Additional warmth is provided by the golden hues of the brass used in the light fittings.
"The bathroom also immerses you in a wintry world with its white walls and ice motifs. The gilded brass fittings add a touch of elegance and luxury."
How amazing? What's more, the glass looking out onto the walrus' home is cleaned once a week to ensure you miss nothing.
We NEED to stay here.
Praia Daiza incredible lodges don't stop there - there's something for any kind of animal lover.
There's the Full Moon Lodge with breathtaking views of bears and wolves; the Polar Bear House with incredible views of the mammoth white bears (both on land or half underwater, depending on your choosing); and the Native Village with traditional Indian huts set among the bears.
There's also the Tiger House where you can sleep nose-to-nose with the stunning felines; the Paddling Bear hotel and lodges, both in close proximity with Steller sea lions; and the Penguin House, with amazing views of the waddling birds, both above and below water.
