Luxurious Maldives Resort Is Looking For Someone To Run Its Beach Bookshop

Are you a bookworm looking for your next Robinson Crusoe-esque adventure? Well, if you know your Marian Keyes from your Jojo Moyes then this job in the Maldives is right up your street.
Luxury resort Soneva Fushi is looking for a "Barefoot Bookseller" to run its beachfront bookshop for six months while simultaneously living on the idyllic island.
The lucky individual will not only run the store but will also host events for hotel guests such as creative writing classes and literary lectures.
They will also be responsible for running the shop's social media account and writing content for the store's blog all while soaking up the jaw-dropping surroundings.
Sharing the job opening on its Instagram, the resort wrote: "BIG ANNOUNCEMENT - We're officially accepting applications for the next barefoot bookseller!
"If you would like the opportunity to spend 6 months living in paradise running a small bookshop on an island in the Maldives at @discoversoneva, then here's your chance...

Speaking about the once in a lifetime opportunity, previous Barefoot Bookseller Aimée Johnson said it was an "absolute dream" working at the resort, which Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner visited for their honeymoon.
She shared on the website: "Being the Barefoot Bookseller was an absolute dream. I got to meet amazing people, work with incredible books and live on a stunning luxury island. Very much the dream job!"
Aside from manning the bookshop, the lucky individual will enjoy a range of spectacular amenities from the stunning Maldives hotspot, including snorkelling, five-star accommodation and gourmet restaurants.
The job is in partnership with Ultimate Library, so the fortunate candidate will receive training before that set off on their adventure and helm the shop in mid-October.
