This Immersive Experience Inside A New Disney 'Star Wars' Hotel Looks Incredible

This Immersive Experience Inside A New Disney 'Star Wars' Hotel Looks Incredible

Star Wars fans rejoice, epic new hotel coming to Walt Disney World, Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser, will finally be taking reservations later this year.

Disney Parks, the official Disney blog site announced the news yesterday on Twitter saying: "Just Announced: Reservations for #StarWars: Galactic Starcruiser - the new multi-day vacation experience coming to Walt Disney World Resort - will open later this year!"

It sounds literally like something out of this world too.

The two-night immersive vacation experience in Disney World, Florida, sees you walk into the Galactic Starcruiser 'space ship' hotel that simulates life in the Star Wars universe.

Whilst the opening will not be until 2021, later this year you can book your tickets for the experience - although exact dates have not yet been revealed, nor has the price.

We think you're going to have to be quick off the mark if you want to grab a slot in the opening year though so keep your eyes peeled.

Disney World's parks and hotels are known for fully immersing guests into Disney films and the universe as a whole, so we can only imagine how incredible this will be if you're a big Star Wars fans.

"Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser is a completely new type of experience," says Ann Morrow Johnson, executive producer for Walt Disney Imagineering.

"You're going to live onboard a star cruiser...and you can get wrapped up in the larger Star Wars story," she told the Disney Parks blog.

She continued: "We're going to invite guests to become the hero of their own Star Wars adventure".

But what can we expect to see inside?

On first arrival, you'll head into a launch pod where you will experience a simulation of being blasted off into space.

Once inside the atrium of the hotel at the heart of the Halcyon is where both crew and passengers can gather - including Stormtroopers and droids.

If you want to keep yourself busy though, you can head over to The Bridge to operate the ship's navigation defence systems under the watchful eye of crew.

Fancy something more active? You can wield your very own lightsaber and put your skills to the test. We wonder if Darth Vader will rear his head for you to battle?

But we know what you're thinking, after operating defence systems and battling the baddies, you'll be in need of a strong drink. But Disney would never leave you wanting and there will be bar in the Silver C Lounge which they've dubbed "a warm and inviting retreat".

Judging by the artist impressions, plenty of themed virtual elements will be in place throughout the hotel - but let's just hope the drinks are real!

Even your room - some of which can sleep up to five - is themed. You'll find yourself inside a passenger cabin style accommodation, with a 'view' of spaceships and "galactic sights," according to Disney.

But it's not just another themed space, because this sounds cool with immersive elements.

Your lightsaber training might just pay off later, because you might be required to defend the Starcruiser at any given time.

Plus, if you interact with crew members and characters in the hotel, it may just influence how your own story plays out while you're immersed in the experience.

It really does sound out of this world, but you'll have to wait until later this year to book.

May the force be with you.
