A US-based mum revealed her shocking hospital fees on TikTok after giving birth.
In the video, user Shannon Mayor showed the total cost to be in the thousands - and it's safe to say viewers weren't happy.
Despite insurance helping out with the cost, people argued that no-one should have to pay for healthcare in any amount.

The new mum struggled to hide her distress in the TikTok. "Holy sh*t you guys I just got our hospital bill from our baby's birth", she said.
She then zoomed in on the net total of her bill, which was thankfully covered by her insurance plan. While she only had $250 (£185.10) to pay herself, the healthcare plan splashed out an eye-watering $50,816.02 (£37,624.94) for the birth of her baby.

Shannon later clarified to a commenter that the birth certainly didn't go off without a hitch. She needed to be induced, as well as deliver her child via emergency C-Section. He then suffered Meconium Aspiration Syndrome (a condition in which a newborn accidentally inhales faecal matter) and needed to be treated in the newborn intensive care unit (NICU).
Other users sympathised with the first-time mum. "That emergency c section is what cost the most I bet. My daughter was born 7 months ago it was about 8k for her to be born naturally [sic]", one person commented.
"You shouldn't even have to pay $250 [for the birth]", said a second. "America is a joke".

"This makes me so grateful to live in Europe [sic]" a third user remarked.
"Its really sad, what is happening to US and how taxes are handled", a fourth person commented.
One experienced mum confessed her birth bill was a vomit-inducing $300,000 (£222,334.50) after a month's stay in the NICU.
