Woman Found Out Her Partner Was Cheating After Seeing Birth Announcement In The Local Paper

A woman has taken to TikTok to relive the moment she discovered her ex partner was cheating on her.

In response to a video in which fellow TikToker mamatoria28 asks "tell me how you found out that your ex-spouse was cheating on you?", aaddison01 describes finding a local newspaper announcement for new births and seeing her ex's name listed.

She starts off by explaining that she was reading the newspaper in her office when she made the rather shocking discovery.

"About a week our 10^th wedding anniversary I was in my office looking through the newspaper. At that time in the newspaper they would publish birth announcements, the parents' names, sex of the baby, what date they were born, name of the hospital and if it was a boy or a girl."

She saw her now ex-partner's name listed amongst the birth announcements with a woman she did not recognise.

She added: "So, I see my [partner's] name and some other female's name. I knew it was his name because [he has an] unusual name."

To double check what she had found, addison01 visited the hospital's website to see if there was any more information about her partner and his new child.

She said: "So I look at the hospital website where they [would] also post pictures of new babies. [I] typed in his name and her first name, sure enough, they had a baby boy a few days prior but not only that, they had a baby girl not even a year and a half before that. So, yeah that's how I found out I was being cheated on."

Many women in the comments section were just as shocked, with one typing: "My mouth stayed agape after the phrase birth announcement and stayed until the very end."

A second commenter said: "Men will have a whole second life. How do they do it?!?!?! I can't even juggle work and my one monogamous relationship properly."

While a third shared: "That happened to me with my ex fiancé. To this day he doesn't know how I found out. He thinks someone in his family told me."

Thank goodness for newspaper birth announcements!
