Newlyweds Ditch Wedding Caterers And Order £350 Worth Of Domino’s Pizza For Wedding Buffet

Because after all, when did anybody complain about pizza?

It goes without saying that wedding catering can be expensive.

So in a move that we think is part crazy, part genius - one couple decided to scrap the whole thing and order everyone pizza instead.

Calling up Domino's Pizza, Tom Browne, 29, and his wife Victoria, 26, from St Austell, put in a £350 order to feed their hungry guests

Explaining the decision, the pair told Cornwall Live that their decision started off as nothing more than a joke, but eventually settled on the idea.

The bride said: "I didn't want traditional sandwiches or anything at the wedding, I wanted something that stood out."

As their wedding day drew closer, the mum of three contacted her local Domino's branch, who were thrilled to be asked to cater the event.

For their dozens of guests, they ordered 30 large pizzas, 20 garlic breads, 20 boxes of chicken strips, and 20 boxes of wedges.

And considering wedding catering usually costs thousands, the £350 price tag left a welcome amount in their wedding fund, too.

Domino's admitted it was the first time they had been asked, but took to the challenge like pros.

Describing how the guests took to the pizza buffet, Victoria said the guests thought they were "winding them up," at first.

"People are still gobsmacked with it," she said. "People think that as a buffet you have to have sandwiches and stuff and I don't really like pasties and I'm not picking them because everyone likes them."

Victoria added: "I was surprised at the amount they delivered, I thought 'we're going to have to take this home and have it for a couple of weeks'.

"We would have ended up having to bin it which would have been devastating for me."

Unsurprisingly, Victoria and Tom are big Domino's fans, ordering from the pizza delivery service about once a week.

However, after their wedding, they've decided they need a break form pizza for a while.

Feel free to send their order our way instead, okay Domino's?
