Family Water Park Bans Revealing Bikini Bottoms For Women And WTF

Adventure World in Perth shared an infographic on its Facebook page banning certain shapes of bikini bottoms.

It's 2019 yet apparently it's still ok to police women's bodies.

That's according to Adventure World in Perth which has banned 'cheeky' bikinis in its water park.

The attraction posted a - *cough* - helpful infographic on its Facebook page detailing exactly what was allowed and what was banned by way of four sketches of female bodies wearing different types of bottoms.

Two options were deemed suitable with green ticks, and two were ruled out with red crosses.

'Don't be too cheeky' read the image, along with the caption "Adventure World is a family friendly park, please choose appropriate swimwear when visiting...", followed by a wink face and a peach emoji.

*Sighs until we can sigh no more*

Does anyone else feel like we've backtracked to the 1930s here? In an age when women are world leaders, we're still being told what we can and can't wear for fear of upsetting people? How about we teach children to not sexualise something as normal as bum cheeks instead?

And, oh yeah, where's the male version of this poster? If anything's bound to cause offence it's budgie smugglers.

The comments on the post presented a mixed bag.

"I'm sick of women being policed on what to wear," wrote one person.

"Seriously? Is there going to be a dress code for men as well, or are you just concerned with sexualizing women? You haven't mentioned what is deemed inappropriate or your reasoning for creating this sign. Be specific," said another.

"Can you make sure boys wear shirts please. That would be great. I get offended seeing their nipples," said a third.

"Is it happening in 2019? Really? Ladys has to cover them body because it's a family place? Why? Otherwise the men's family can not control them selves? This is ridiculous [sic]," penned another.

Several others made the point that "Bikinis look different on all body types" and said the new rules were not fair on "big bummed ladies".

Others were in favour of the ban, calling small bikinis "inappropriate" and "gross" in a family water park.

"I agree it's degrading seeing g-string bikinis. My kid doesn't need to see your bits an I don't either," said one mother.

Adventure World responded by saving that their 'Don't be too cheeky' policy is "not gender specific", though we reckon those drawings look decidedly female. See where the confusion lies?

Personally, I think it will be interesting to see how Adventure World plan to uphold these regulations. Wedgie police at the bottoms of each slide, perhaps?

Maybe the water park should be boycotted, or otherwise, how great would it be to see an army of women rock up in their 'cheekiest' bikini bottoms this weekend in protest?

Perth-based ladies, take note.

Stay cheeky ladies.
