A grieving mother has created a moving range of Mother's Day cards after her first baby was stillborn.

Hannah Pontillo, 22, was devastated after her son Dexy died three weeks before his due date.

Determined to create cards for mums like her next weekend, Hannah worked with card company Thortful to bring the touching designs to life. Profits from her cards will be donated to stillbirth awareness charity Kicks Count.

There are four cards to pick from, each with emotional messages, such as: "I'm the brightest star in the night, with you as my mummy I'll hold your heart tight".

Hannah, who has since given birth to son River in December, told the Mirror: "Giving birth to Dexy knowing he'd died was agonising. Afterwards, people forgot I was a mother.

"But I hadn't stopped being one just because my baby died. Mother's Day cards usually talk about tying children's shoelaces, playing and looking after them.

"For my cards I imagined what Dexy would say to me if he could."

Hannah's cards got a wonderful response from the public, with mums who had gone through similar experiences contacting her to share their admiration.

She took to Instagram to share her feelings about her experiences.

"Today has been CRAZY!! I've had such an amazing response to the cards and have been contacted by so many that I'm trying so hard to reply to you all!!" Hannah wrote.

"I just wanted to thank @thortful for making this happen with me and @kicks.count you guys deserve all the profit because you do such amazing work to save babies and make mums to be realise how important movements are in pregnancy! They have supported me non stop since Dexy died and throughout my pregnancy with River! I'm so glad I found them!

"I wanted mums this Mother's Day to not feel left out, unvalidated or like they don't count because their children have died! That's exactly how I felt last year and I promised myself I wouldn't let anyone feel like that ever again!

"You can buy the cards at www.thortful.com/forgottenmothers. Thank you so much for all of your continued support, love you have shown myself and my family and you're stories! Every baby matters no matter their age, how long they were with us or how others see them!"

The cards are priced at £3.29 each with four different designs to choose from, and you can order them here.
