One mama has caused social media uproar, by revealing her fears that her baby girl's legs were 'too fat' following cruel comments from friends and family.

The woman took to parenting site MumsNet to air her concerns, and questioned whether her six-month-old tot had 'too chubby' legs.

Sharing a snap of her daughter on the forum, she wrote: "This is my [dear daughter] 6 months old.

"Everyone always comments on her legs and how fat they are and it's getting to me. For example someone said yesterday 'bloody hell how much are you feeding her?'."

Clearly fed up of other people's opinions, the mama-of-one then detailed what she feeds her baby girl, adding: "For reference she has less than the average amount of formula and never finishes a bottle.

"She also only started weaning last week and has so far only had fruit, veg and Weetabix. Am I doing something wrong?"

The post has received an influx of supportive messages from other mums and dads, urging her to ignore rude comments from other people about her little girl's appearance, adding that her baby's legs looked totally normal, and just like their own kids'.

"They're fine and your acquaintances are being rude. My son's legs and arms and face were MUCH chubbier than this and he is now a very lean and healthy young man," fumed one person.

And somebody else echoed: "[Original poster], you have a lovely baby! Ignore those kind of comments and enjoy cuddling your beautiful, squishy baby."

"Babies can't be 'too fat'. Don't give it a second thought," added a third person reading the post.

While another person sympathised: "Totally normal. My chubby legged lad is another 6' slim adult. Enjoy your baby, ignore idiots."

Maybe everyone should mind their own business next time they're commenting on a baby's weight next time!
