A brand new escape room is coming to the UK this month, designed to test your detective skills in true crime style - and it sounds criminally good.

The first experience of its kind, it will get budding investigators to work against the clock to seek out clues, interview witnesses and gather evidence in this immersive experience.

It'll be just like you're in a true crime documentary, and tbh we're here for it.

You'll step into the shoes of a private detective for the hour, ready to solve the mystery around a not-so-ordinary burglary, which will be inspired by events from acclaimed crime writer, Sophie Hannah's novella, A Dark Time.

The pop up, designed by ADT Fire & Security with help from real ex-burglar Michael Fraser, who is the star of BBC's Beat the Burglar, will take place across two long weekends, on 31st October - 3rd November and 7th - 10th November.

The escape room will therefore run for a total of eight days and be held at a secret east London location.

It is completely free - but you have to be lucky enough to win a ticket to the event.

The ballot for tickets will be open on Thursday 17th October and you will need to indicate a preferred day and time, to ensure you can make your slot if selected for tickets.

The website won't be live until Thursday, but once it is, you can try and snap tickets up here.

The escape room will also help the public learn invaluable lessons about how best to protect your home, now that the nights are drawing in for winter, leaving homes more vulnerable to break ins.

Lee Jasper from ADT Fire & Security, comments: "Not only will the public come along to our escape room and have a fun time, but they'll also take away some worthwhile tips and tricks that they can put into practise in their own homes.

TV's best-known former burglar, Michael Fraser adds: "From piecing together clues to analysing evidence, participants will be thinking both like a burglar and a member of law enforcement.

"Those taking part will be getting one on one time with actors within the escape room, sifting through clues and trying to sort out the truth.

"It will be intense, thrilling and a test of mental endurance, but ultimately, people will come out knowing more about home security and how they can better protect themselves."

We can't wait to play detective for this one - sign us up.
