A special little kitten with a neurological disorder that causes her to shake and wobble is up for adoption.

The adorable white fur ball was rescued by a member animal charity Mayhew after being abandoned in Wormwood Scrubs. But it was soon discovered that the cat, who they named Brollita, would need more support than normal.

When Brollita first arrived at the centre, her tremors were so bad they would cause water to splash on her face when she tried to drink, which scared her. The kitten was also extremely uneasy on her feet and extremely shaking, which caused the professionals to refer her to an animal doctor who diagnosed her with cerebellar hypoplasia, a genetic neurological condition passed down from her mother.

Luckily the condition isn't degenerative, meaning it won't get worse over time, plus Brolitta has a moderate version of it so she only needs help to make sure she doesn't inadvertently hurt herself. The charity says that many animals with cerebellar hypoplasia can enjoy a normal life with the right support.

Mayhew say that Brollita, now three-months-old, has been an "absolute dream patient" since being diagnosed.

The charity are now asked for a loving home to come forward for the kitten. The Duchess of Sussex is even a patron of the charity and has visited their north London centre in the past, so there's a good chance Brollita may have even had a royal cuddle.

An advert on the charity's website reads: "Despite [Brollita's condition] she has not let anything hold her back and is climbing up her scratch post and playing like a trooper. She now needs an extra special home with people who will give her lots of love and affection so she can enjoy the second chance she's been given and feel the love and companionship she truly deserves."

The charity ask that Brolitta's potential new owner should be around for most of the day and have an enclosed garden area for her to enjoy some supervised fun in. They also say they will consider a "large indoor-only home."

To apply for adoption call Mayhew on 020 8962 8000 or visit them in person.
