TikTok has become a fantastic app for food hacks and ideas - from cutting bread to make the perfect sandwich, to how to hold a fajita wrap - the possibilities are endless.

However, one man has done the complete opposite of a food hack. His girlfriend has filmed his shocking dinnertime faux pas and let's just say we can't believe our eyes.

TikTok user Charlotteecraine posted a video to the social media app showing the aftermath of her boyfriend's attempt to plate their dinner. Unfortunately, he thought the white stools in their kitchen had plates on them.

Check out the hilarious video below:

To @Charlotteecraine's surprise, her dinner ended up all over her kitchen stool.

She said: "My boyfriend really plated our food onto the bare wooden stools thinking they had plates on them. You think he would've realised after the first one. I'm still trying to figure out how he managed to mess this up so badly."

She captioned the video: "Tell me your boyfriend's an idiot without telling me your boyfriend's an idiot."

People were just as shocked in the comments section, with many users questioning why he thought there were dinner plates on top of the stools as well as questions about the pasta recipe itself.

"Lolol brah.. let's.. let's think about this for a sec. Why would there be plates on the stools in the first place," one TikTok user joked.

"Get this man some glasses," said another commenter.

One person said: "I am impressed by how neatly he got them on the stools."

While another commenter shared: "It took me several seconds to understand what I was seeing and wow. That is really something."

The video left TikTok users with a lot of unanswered questions (

Another user quipped: "Rustic indie restaurants be like.."

"I want to comment on so many things," one TikTok user wrote. "Why gherkins on pasta? Who puts plates on stools? Is he in uni?"

Pasta will never be the same for these two ever again!
