When you're a kid, the summer holidays are the best time of the year.
But spare a thought for the parents who have to spend six weeks entertaining their little ones, taking them to the beach, park and zoo on repeat, all the while spending every spare penny on treats from the ice cream truck.
It's no wonder parents breathe a sigh of relief when September rolls around. Some might even pour themselves a glass of wine and collapse on the sofa. But for one mum, expressing her glee at the start of the school term was done in a much more adherent way: by throwing a party.

Lisa Sobis, a mum-of-two, was so pleased at welcoming back her freedom she decided to throw a one-woman party with balloons, party hats and booze.
The mum, from Bourton-on-the-Water in the Cotswolds, posted a hilarious selfie of herself enjoying the party online.
Meanwhile daughters Ruby, eight, and Belle, five - who attend Springback Primary Academy in Cheltenham - stand grumpily in the background with arms crossed.
"My children know I love them dearly but when the first day of school comes around, it is nice to see them back off," Lisa said.

"You see all these pictures on the first day back of school of children posing nicely in front of the fireplace or the doorway.
"I just wanted to do something different from the traditional."
Lisa added: "We do live in a fun household - we all found taking the photo to be very humorous."
We love this idea, and think all parents should have mini parties come September.
Most children in the UK went back to school this Monday (2nd September) after a long summer break and just a couple of heatwaves thrown in.

After weeks of rolling around in the grass and playing down the swimming pool, the prospect of smartening up in a uniform and facing school can be a hard one for kids.
And nobody illustrates it better than five-year-old Lucie from Glasgow, whose mum Jillian shared two hilarious before and after shots of her first day.
In the first image, little Lucie was all smiles as she beamed alongside her elder brother, with her school uniform neat and orderly and a bow sweetly tucked into her hair.

However in the second, Lucie no longer looked prim and proper, and instead sporting a scruffy hair-do with the bow hanging limply off her head.
Her tie was loosened and her cardigan was hanging off one shoulder, while one of her knee high socks were falling down, too.
So funny - we've all been there, Lucie!
