A woman has shared her shocking experience of being banned from the nail salon because of her weight.

Yep, in a story that will make your eyes roll hard into the back of your head, Columbia, South Carolina resident Ashley Cheffen told Wach News Fox 57 how she was turned away from getting a pedicure because they thought she was too overweight.

Watch the video below:

Ashley had turned up to POSH Nail Spa II in Columbia and sat down for her pedi, with the technician sitting down and starting prepping her feet as normal.

But then he abruptly stood up and left mid-way through. Moments later, the salon's receptionist came over and told her she was exceeding the "weigh limit" on the chair she was sitting on.

"She said ma'am, unfortunately, he's not going to be able to continue your services," Ashley said.

"We're not going to be able to finish your pedicure because of the weight limit on the chair".

The company's policy reportedly states that a customer may be held responsible if a spa chair breaks, should they weigh over 300 pounds.

They don't mention anywhere about refusing to serve somebody, and POSH Nail Spa's owners even confirmed to WACH News themselves that "they don't turn anyone away," unless they cause "disruption".

"I left, I sat in my car and I kind of just had a moment," Ashley told the news channel.

"I was embarrassed, I was humiliated and I felt horrible."

In a statement after the incident, a rep from the salon told WACH News that the receptionist was no longer employed at the salon.

"POSH is there to serve everybody and there is absolutely no discrimination against anyone of any size.

"As a manager, we will be going around and making sure that everyone feels comfortable," they said.

The salon added that they were willing to make it up to poor Ashley if she reached out, along with any other customer who may have experienced similar.

If we were her, we'd be going elsewhere, though...
