Theme park buffs, we have some mouth-watering news for you.

Universal Studios is gearing up to open its fifth theme park in Beijing and it's only a few short months away from opening.

First announced back in 2014 with a 20 billion RMB (£2.52 billion) investment, Universal Beijing Resort began building last year and planned open in May 2021 - that's just nine months away.

Now for the fun stuff.

The park has been designed with seven themed zones, each based around an iconic movie franchise from the Universal Studios.

The most exciting of which has to be the Wizarding World Of Harry Potter, while will feature Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey - a rollercoaster that features in several of the other Hollywood studio's theme parks.

Information is otherwise scarce, but artist concept images of the zone show that park-goers can expect a Diagon Alley-style strip with pretty, snow-topped shops and even a Hogsmeade to pick up a pint of Butterbeer.

Across from that, fans of dinosaurs will no doubt be racing towards Jurassic World Isla Nublar.

While the park is keeping schtumn on the details for now, fans can expect an unnamed 3D attraction and an unnamed 360 degree roller coaster for the thrill seekers. Yes please.

Again, artist concepts from the zone can shed some more light on what to expect, and we're spying exotic palm trees and a replica of the enormous pointed gothic building as featured on the mainland in Jurassic World.

Other zones include Kung-Fu Panda: The Land of Awesome where fans will be able to meet Po and his fighter friends in their native land.

There's also a Transformers zone (expect lots of shape-shifting attractions); a Minion Land (which is sure to be a hit with the young and old alike); and a Waterworld zone, based on the 1995 post-apocalyptic movie - the first of its kind in a Universal theme park.

The entrance to the park is named Hollywood Boulevard - based on the real Hollywood Boulevard - which will also act as a music plaza, with food areas and a 'Lights, Camera, Action!' show, co-hosted by Steven Spielberg and Zhang Yimou. Wow!

Anyone else thinking May 2021 can't come any sooner?
