This Three-Bed Terraced House Is Being Auctioned For Just £1 – But There's A Catch

If you think you're up to a huge DIY task then this could be the house for you...

What if we told you that there's a home in Birmingham up for auction at just £1? Sounds too good to be true, right?

Well, to some, it kind of is. Yep, the outside of the terraced home from SDL Auctions might look pretty nice, with a trimmed hedge and a gable porch out front - but the inside is going to need a *lot* of work.

Dubbed a "house of horrors," due to its chaotic interior, the moment you step into the property you'll understand the tiny starting price.

Straight away you'll see fallen plaster, rubble on the floor and a caved in roof.

The house is damp and damaged too, with a sink half falling off the wall and a broken toilet in the bathroom.

The kitchen is fitted with an insanely rusty oven, which we suggest any future owner throws on a rubbish heap immediately, and an equally grubby sink nestled into a dingy corner.

Of course, if you're open minded and up for getting your hands dirty, the property still has a lot to offer.

Downstairs, there's a hallway, two reception rooms, a kitchen and 1930s fire places.

The front room boasts a huge bay window, too, while the rear reception room has French windows leading out into the garden.

Upstairs there are three bedrooms - two with original cast iron fireplaces - and a bathroom.

Plus, it has a front garden and a good sized rear garden.

If you fancy the DIY project, get yourself down to Villa Park, Birmingham, on Tuesday 29 October.

Valuer Neal Hume said: "This property may be a ghost of its former self but any serious investor will have the vision to see beyond the disrepair and imagine the possibilities

"It's actually a really lovely house with some attractive features such as original fireplaces and picture rails.

"With good-sized rooms, an upstairs bathroom and a garden, all the main ingredients are there and I'm sure there are many investors who won't be able to resist the opportunity to perform a spectacular transformation on the property."

Are you up to the job?!
