Tesco has teamed up with royal photographer David Levenson to offer three lucky families a back to school photoshoot by the man himself.

David has even shot princes Harry and William on their first days back at school, so you'll certainly be getting the royal treatment.

And it couldn't be easier to enter the competition. All you need to do is purchase some F&F school uniform or children's jeans (aka the favourite home-schooling attire) between 29th July and 21st August.

Then, simply email your receipt as proof of purchase to [email protected] and you'll be immediately entered into the comp.

And with 80 per cent of parents commemorating the back to school moment with a photograph (and 34 per cent taking the classic 'doorstep' shot) David has also rounded up some handy tips for budding photographer parents.

David explains for a good portrait, it's important to stand the subject in the shade and avoid the bright sunshine. Have them reasonably close to the camera and always get yourself down to their level. Also, pay attention to the background. Brick walls don't photograph well and don't forget to move any dustbins out of shot!

David adds: "For a more interesting 'back to school' picture, get your kids to walk away from you and then turn their heads to the camera, to capture them smiling or try a shot where the kids are all jumping in the air, to give a bit of life to the photograph.

"If the weather is bad, make it a feature of the photo. For example, have them laughing under an umbrella

"On a sunny day it is better for the subject to have their back to the light - it will stop them squinting too."

David also reassures parents not to worry about whether your camera is good enough as "some of the best photos in history were taken with simple equipment".

So there you have it! If you don't end up winning the photoshoot with David, at least you know how to take a cracking shot yourself!

Alessandra Bellini, Chief Customer Officer at Tesco, added: "This year, we understand that there will be mixed emotions around returning to school after months of uncertainty, and that the occasion may look different around the country.

"With prices starting from just £2.50, we believe that our great-value, easy-care uniforms with a 100-day guarantee will help ensure all families feel ready to take on the new academic year.

"Given this truly unique back to school moment, however, we also want to help families create special memories together.

This is why we have worked with David to create a series of simple photography tips, so parents and children can mark that first day back.

We're also delighted to offer three lucky families the once-in-a-lifetime chance to win a regal photoshoot to mark the special occasion."
