You Can Now Sleep In A Lodge Next To Lions At ZSL London Zoo

Staycations are unsurprisingly all the rage for 2020, but if you're looking for something a little different, how about a sleepover with the lions at ZSL London Zoo?

Yep, ZSL has nine lodges available to book, which are located inside the 'Land of the Lions' - meaning you'll be just a few strides from the kings of the jungle themselves.

Set in the heart of the zoo, the intimate lodges are each inspired by hotels in the lions' native home of India. Beautifully decorated, each lodge is themed to a different animal found in the Gir forest, from flamingos to peacocks and parakeets.

There are five double lodges - Langur Lodge, Flamingo Lodge, Oriole Lodge, Parakeet Lodge and Peacock Lodge - as well as four twin lodges - Leopard Lodge, Chital Lodge, Sunbird Lodge and Kingfisher Lodge. Leopard Lodge is also fully accessible.

You can choose from twin rooms or doubles and each has an en-suite bathroom and a private veranda. Just imagine enjoying a cold glass of vino while listening to the orchestral sounds of the zoo after dark. We're talking roaring lions, singing gibbons, flamingos and other quirky creatures!

Children are welcome, but the zoo runs both adult only and family nights - so make sure you check before you decide on a date.

On adult nights, each lodge can accommodate two adults, while on family nights, a maximum of two adults and two children (or one adult and three children) can be accommodated with sofa beds.

So what does the sleepover include?!

Well, a stay at the lodge includes three exclusive tours (which will all take place when the zoo is closed to the public) with private viewings of various animals as well as two full days access to the zoo (you are also welcome to visit ZSL Whipsnade Zoo on your second day if you prefer).
