This 'Skinny House' Is Leaving People Seriously Perplexed

This 'Skinny House' Is Leaving People Seriously Perplexed

'That's not a house, that's a hallway...'

We've seen some quirky architecture in our time, but this skinny house from Illinois might just take the biscuit.

After TikTok user Eli Korn shared the home on the video app, it's safe to say that people were left a little baffled.

And it's not hard to see why... It's really narrow.

In the footage, when Eli stands to the side of the house it looks as if there is barely room for a small shelf inside.

Check it out for yourself:

"That's not a house, that's a hallway," wrote one person in the comments.

While another joked: "Imagine if the wind blew that too hard".

A third TikTok user commented: "This has deeply upset me".

And while we'll agree the house looks mind-bendingly skinny in the video, what you don't see is that it's actually more of a triangle shape, growing slightly wider towards the opposite end of the property.

There's more to it than initially meets the eye, and for this very reason it's known in the area as the 'Pie House'.

In a listing on estate agency Zillow, where the home is currently on the market for $269,000 (£206,232), it reads: "You can now own Deerfield's famous 'Pie House'!

"This iconic home is larger than [it] appears, with over 1600 square feet of living space including the finished basement. Good natural light with lots of character.

The home is certainly unique (

"This one bedroom (plus one in the basement), two and [a] half bath home has plenty to offer! Open floor plan on main level with hardwood floors."

We're also treated to some pictures of the inside of the property, including a pretty decent sized bedroom on the further end of the home, and a clean, modern (if a little thin) kitchen and living room space, too.

It looks relatively open plan inside, with hardwood floors and modern kitchen and bathroom facilities, with a classy, minimalist decor running throughout.

We bet you wouldn't have thought it looked like this from the TikTok video, would you?

We're half considering up rooting and moving to Illinois now!
