Flight Attendant Shares Gross Reason Why You Should Never Order Tea Or Coffee On A Plane
One of our favourite parts of a plane journey is ordering a hot choc and a mini tube of Pringles. But one flight attendant has revealed the foods and drinks you shouldn't ask for onboard - and it might make you think twice.
Posting a video on TikTok, flight attendant Kat Kamalani explained which products you shouldn't consume on a plane.
You can watch below:
"Don't you ever, ever, ever consume these products, from an airplane, from a flight attendant," Kat began.
"Rule number one, never consume any liquid that is not in a can or a bottle, the reason being is because those water tanks, are never cleaned.
"And they are disgusting. So talk to a flight attendant, we rarely, rarely drink the coffee or tea, they come from the same water tank so when you're drinking that coffee or tea it comes from that hot water and it's absolutely disgusting."
Kat then pointed to two machines, explaining one is cleaned regularly, while the other is not.

"These little coffee guys are rarely cleaned unless they are broken. These guys are taken out and cleaned in between flights but the whole machine is never cleaned. And, they are by the lavatories," she explained.
Kat also spoke directly to parents wanting hot water for their baby's bottle.
"Pro tip for all you parents, never ask for hot water and put it in your baby's bottle, ask for a bottled water on the side, get hot water in a cup and then give your baby a bottle with the bottled water and heat it up."
In 2019, passengers were horrified when an airline water study revealed the quality of water varied by airline, with many providing "unhealthy water".
"The quality of drinking water varies by airline, and many airlines have possibly provided passengers with unhealthy water," the study - conducted by the Hunter College NYC Food Policy Center and DietDetective.com - revealed.
A score was awarded to each airline, with 5 being the best and 0 the worst. Above 3 indicated relatively clean water, but out of 10 airlines, seven received a score of less than 3.
Might be time to give that hot choc a miss...
