A thread about unnecessarily gendered products has gone viral - with hilarious results.

In 2020, with society moving away from binary views of gender identity, you'd think the days of pink-themed packaging for girls and blue for boys would be long gone.

At the time of writing, the thread has 15.7K likes.

Home improvements not your thing? Perhaps building Jenga towers is more on your level - step up this special pink-toned 'Girl Talk' edition of the game, with blocks in rosy hues.

Not forgetting these handy gender-coded tooth brushes, and pink and blue Pritt Sticks, for when you want to enforce gender binaries on your stationery collection.

And of course, there's the Boyble, here to teach religion on a strictly gender-binary basis, just like Jesus - who saw everyone as equal - would have wanted.

Sadly, these images show that we have a long way to go before unnecessarily gendered products are a thing of the past.

Retailers, the 1950s called. They want their packaging back.
