An old couple have managed to rack up 155,000 followers on Instagram after sharing their day-to-day lives with their followers.

Geoffry Walker, 89, and his wife Pauline, 86, from Coalville, Leics, originally made their page back in 2016 to keep up with their family - but now they've become online celebs in their own right.

With the combined age of 175, the pair are now a social media hit with people all over the globe, sharing everything from fruit cake tutorials to weather updates to food shopping trips with their fans.

Pauline also often showcases her knitting skills, and even teaches followers how to hang their laundry on the washing line. The fun really does never end.

Speaking about their newfound stardom, Geoffrey says they call all of their Instagram followers 'friends' as they enjoy speaking to them all on a daily basis.

"We have a host of Instagram grandchildren who comment to ask if we can be their grandparents, we say yes of course but don't forget our birthday presents," he says.

And while being influencers sounds like glitz and glam, the couple have now got so famous that they physically can't reply to all their adoring fans.

He adds: "Young people find it fascinating that we are on Instagram, but I have always been good with computers ever since they were invented.

"We have three children, five grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren - it seemed Instagram was the easiest way to contact our family and keep them up to date with what we are doing.

"We had about 80 to 90 followers who were friends and family but a young woman from the village put our Instagram on her twitter and the next day we had 18,000 followers.

"I must admit I thought I had been hacked; I had no idea what had happened. And now we are officially verified and have made many friends from America, Germany and New Zealand, it is amazing.

"We couldn't possibly reply to all messages as sometimes I wake up and there's about 3000, I delete them and then there's another pile."

While Geoffrey has always been tech savvy, and now has a Motorola smartphone, an iPad and two Apple Macs, it's the couple's undeniable love for each other that has reeled in the fans.

"We have been married since 1951 and we are still in love; the only hashtag I use is 'I love this girl' and the reason is self-explanatory," he said. Awwww.

It looks like Geoffrey and Pauline's Insta fame is only on the up, as they even made their first TV debut this week on ITV's This Morning.

Unfortunately, it was under heartbreaking circumstances, as Pauline had her purse stolen from her bag while out shopping in Coalville.

The pair had first of all told fans about the heartbreaking incident on Instagram, but after their post went viral they were invited onto the show by Phil and Holly.

And they won even more hearts across the country as they were gifted £1000 in a game of Spin to Win, and were practically speechless with excitement.

One viewer tweeted: "Bless Pauline's search for her purse on @thismorning so pleased they won £1000. What a lovely thing for the show to do."

While another said: "Oh my gosh, how adorable are old couple Jeffery and Pauline? What horrible vile people to steal her purse whilst out shopping. I really hope that someone finds her purse and hands it into her soon, so cute."

Later, Pauline and Geoffrey took to their Instagram page to thank everyone for the support.

What an adorable couple. We want them to be our grandparents, too!
