Woman Planned Entire Wedding Before She Got Engaged And Told Family It Was A BBQ

Genius!

When you're planning a wedding, there's nothing worse than a million different people offering a million different opinions on every aspect of the day.

Which is why one couple decided to plan and book their entire wedding before they even got engaged, simply telling family and friends to save the date for a barbecue.

Genius! You can watch a clip of the bride-to-be explaining below:

In the video, TikTok user @evh1990 explains: "We actually planned the entire wedding - caterers, dress, everything - before getting engaged.

"And put it in our friends' and families' diaries as a 'barbecue'. And then, when we got engaged, and told our friends and family we were engaged, we said oh, you know that barbecue? Not a barbecue.

"It's our wedding day, it's in four months' time, you don't have to stress, there's nothing to do, there's nothing to worry about.

"I'd highly recommend it, highly recommend."

The woman explained they told no one (

In the comments, the bride added: "We told no one. We just decided everything between the two of us and I knew he'd propose with a ring in the next few weeks."

And other users were so intrigued by the idea, with one commenting: "Oooh why do you think it's better this way? No hate just wondering."

And the bride explained: "It was just nice that we had no input from anyone else and were totally in control of what we wanted. Plus no one else had stress."

And it seems there are quite a few couples adopting a similar strategy. One person added: "We did the same but in 10 weeks, got engaged half way through."

And another commented: "Omg I'm not engaged yet (I know it's coming) and we've been planning our April wedding for almost a month now. Only our parents and best friends know."

And a third added: "We literally did this too! We got the venue and date and photographer before he even popped the question."

Sounds like a genius idea to us!
