You Can Now Get Glitter To Add To Any Paint For Home DIY

You Can Now Get Glitter To Add To Any Paint For Home DIY

As lockdown continues, many of us are cracking on with a few home DIY projects. But just when we thought we'd run out of things to paint, we realised Hemway is selling glitter you can add to any type of emulsion.

And the results are *so* mesmerising, we're going to have to dig our brushes out again...

The glitter brand is selling the paint additive in a whopping 42 different colours, from holographic blue to rose gold.

All you have to do is sprinkle the sparkly stuff into any type of emulsion paint - Hemway recommend 100g per 1.5 litres - and you'll be left with a shimmering paint ready to use.

A video tutorial demonstrates exactly how it works, with Hemway using bright pink chalk paint and gold glitter as an example - and we are obsessed.

One person who bought the glitter on Amazon said they were "blown away" by the product, admitting they had been sceptical at first.

"Wow, wow wow... OK then, I've read the reviews of this product and was somewhat skeptical that it would work, but I have to say I was absolutely blown away by the results and for all the right reasons," they said.

"My intention was to mix this with some water based acrylic exterior white paint, and was half expecting the glitter to be coated by the white paint, but much to my relief having mixed the glitter into the paint I then rolled the paint onto the timber mouldings and then watched as the glitter shone on the surface in stunning glory. It really is amazing stuff."

Another agreed, writing: "Anyone thinking of purchasing this will be over the moon!!! It's addictive hehe... you can work the glitter in any different ways for a more noticeable look you can paint the wall and blow it onto the wall [...] must have and cheers any room up it's so cute!!"

One person even likened it to "a million sparkly diamonds", explaining: "Absolutely love this. Mixed it into my second coat of pale grey emulsion and when the light shines on it, it looks like a million sparkly diamonds shimmering on the wall. My little girl now wants it in her room so will definitely be buying again."

The glitter is priced at £9.95 per pack and you can buy it directly from the Hemway website - where the brand is currently offering a 3 for 2 deal - or you can purchase off Amazon.

But the glitter fun doesn't stop there.

The brand is also selling a special glitter grout additive, which you can add to any standard grout. Not only is it temperature resistant, but it's also non-toxic and so easy to use.

Also priced at £9.95 per pack, simply mix it into grout, with Hemway recommending 100g glitter to 1kg dry grout. They also sell 10g sample bags to use for a test run.

Anyone else feel like they'll be leaving lockdown with a home fully transformed and covered in glitter?
