Bride-To-Be Left Fuming As Costa Coffee Capacity Exceeds 100 People

With restrictions on weddings still in place - limiting numbers to just 30 - the bride said the rules make "no sense whatsoever".

A bride-to-be has been left fuming after learning over 100 people are able to visit Costa Coffee at one time, but weddings are restricted to 30 people.

Robyn Tennison, 28 from Essex, couldn't believe her eyes when she noticed a sign outside her local Costa, which read: "Maximum indoor capacity - 115."

With restrictions on weddings still in place - limiting numbers to just 30 - Robyn said the rules make "no sense whatsoever".

Robyn was shocked when she saw the sign outside Costa (

"I think it's atrocious I can go to Costa with 115 other strangers in my local town yet can only have 30 friends and family at my wedding day!" She told Tyla.

"This exact same day I walked into Costa and saw this sign, my good friend was getting married and her numbers were limited to 30 meaning we couldn't go, she might as well have had her reception at Costa!

"I feel like the wedding industry has been left behind this whole year and it really irritates me when I see thousands of people together at football stadiums.

"If they can run pilot schemes of nightclubs and raves, then surely we should be allowed to sing and dance at my wedding with my OWN family.

"It's just ludicrous. I could easily rent a venue and have a work event with hundreds of people but if it's for a personal event, it's out of the question. Makes no sense whatsoever!"

Robyn is due to marry fiancé Charlie, also 28, on 26th June - after restrictions are expected to be lifted.

She told us how waiting to hear prime minister Boris Johnson's announcement on weddings has taken the excitement away from what should be a happy time.

"We have everything crossed for the announcement on Monday but we're so over the whole wedding excitement now. It has well and truly taken the excitement of planning a wedding," she said.

"We have felt this whole time that we can't get excited as it's always been like a roller coaster. One minute we feel like we've got the wedding of our dreams, the next it's being cancelled."

While Boris is yet to make an announcement, it's been widely reported this week that numbers at weddings could be exempt to any delays in restrictions lifting.

We've got everything crossed...
