One In 10 Adults Consider Their Partner Eating McDonald's Without Them As Bad As Cheating

Coming home to that faint whiff of fries, followed by the discovery of a familiar brown paper bag crumpled in the bin, is heartbreak like no other.

Yep, your partner has gone behind your back to get a McDonald's without you. What were they thinking?

As fuming as you would be, would this betrayal be grounds to break up?

Well, according to a new study, one in 10 of us would consider the act as bad as cheating. In fact, in the poll of 1,000 fast food fans, a shocking one in 20 would actually break up with their partner if they found out they'd gone for a cheeky Drive-Thru without them.

It seems Maccies fans have seriously missed their fix during lockdown. In the same study, 17 per cent said the first taste of a Big Mac, after months without, was better than a pay rise.

Meanwhile, 16 per cent put it on par with the birth of their first child, while 13 per cent said it was better than their wedding day. LOL.

McDonald's fans specifically missed a cheeky Sausage & Egg McMuffin on the way to work, with almost a quarter reporting this to be the occasion they missed the most.

Some 21 per cent said they had been missing family trips via the Drive-Thru as well as stop-offs during weekend shopping trips.

It's clearly made some fans realise their devotion to the chain, with nearly half saying they would rather give up booze if they were given the choice.

Meanwhile, one in 10 would ditch their phone before parting with a Big Mac, while 29 per cent would skip watching sport for a year.

Today, McDonald's reopened a number of restaurants for dine-in, explaining they have implemented a number of new measures to ensure visitors can dine safely.

These include hand sanitiser at every entrance, clear floor markings, touch points sanitised at least every 30 minutes and perspex screens installed in kitchens, service areas and at Drive-Thru windows.
