One DIY pro found the perfect way to treat her pup, creating a wonderland for her under the stairs, which cost just £60 to complete.
Georgina Beetlestone, 31, from Newport, Saffron Walden, made the beautiful room for her Pomeranian, Minnie, nine months, by transforming an under-stairs cupboard.
The little room is fitted with a bed, dog-themed wallpaper and even a framed photo of her parents that she can look at with adoration.
Georgina, mum to Lilly- Ella, 11, and Jesse, 19 months, said: "I have always wanted to make one but I didn't have any under stairs space in my previous property.
"When I moved to this property a year ago, I saw the potential for a dog room and decided to make it.
"My friend's partner cut the hole for me, I made a partitian to put inside the cupboard, I put sticky tiles on the floor and put the wallpaper and a LED light because I didn't want it to be all gloomy- all I need is name plaque now.
"I even called the breeder and asked for a photo of Minnie's parents.
"I was waiting for it to dry so I didn't put her inside yet but it looks like she likes it because she keeps going to see.
"The whole thing cost me £60 for the wood, the mdf board, the wallpaper and the tiles.
"I really enjoyed making it, I loved it- she is so sweet she deserves it. "

Talking of incredible under-the-stairs creations, did you see the adorable playhouse that one mother made for her daughter?
Home Care Manager Karen Adamson, 37, from Danderhall, Midlothian, decided to decorate the space because she wanted little Holly, three, to have an area of her own to play in.
And she completely kitted it out to look like a miniature house - with a window cut out, a brick patterned wall and everything she could possibly need inside, from a sofa to a kiddy kitchen to a toy washing machine.
Now, we know what you're thinking... this must have broken the bank.
Time to clear out all those odds and ends and put our cupboard under the stairs to good use, we think!
