If you are fed up of spending hours slaving over an ironing board, trying desperately to ensure your shirts and skirts are crease-free, there is good news for you. You may be able to get out of doing it this Christmas in exchange for decorating someone's Christmas tree.

Sounds like the perfect deal to us.

CareToShare is a website that allows you to offer up your skills in exchange for a service provided by someone else, or simply cold hard cash. And it turns out, some people don't enjoy decorating their tree during the holiday season, so it would make the perfect service to offer up.

One website user said: "Hi there, I am looking for someone to help me decorate my Christmas tree - in exchange I can offer house cleaning Services, ironing etc or pay for the services".

You get to put a few baubles on a tree in exchange for someone doing your ironing. Umm, where do we sign up?

Another user, who would be a perfect match, was offering up their decorating and present wrapping services, provided someone could offer "useful chores" in return or pay them.

Of course it's not just festive favours you can request either, because this website is usable all year round. So if you can provide tennis lessons, you could swap them for someone who has fabulous culinary skills who are willing to make dinner for your next party, or you could find your kids a maths tutor in exchange for your painting and decorating services.

It sounds particularly ideal if you are short on cash and have a skill to offer as an alternative to payment.

CareToShare describes itself as "a website to bring people together to share their knowledge, skills and tasks with each other."

It adds: "Whether to earn extra income from teaching or completing tasks or for exchanging one skill for another in return or simply to pass on knowledge to benefit others."

Sign up to the CareToShare website here and get ready to boast all about your Christmas tree dressing services to see if you get any takers.
