Lockdown has us searching for ways to make birthday celebrations at home that extra bit special - and shoppers are going wild for show-stopping balloon arches from Amazon.

Crammed with colourful balloons of all shapes and sizes that are easily assembled into a giant arch, these DIY kits create an eye-catching feature that takes any birthday to a whole new level.

Once built, the arches look incredible positioned over a doorway or table laden with presents and birthday goodies.

Best of all, the balloon arch packages are a total bargain, with many retailing for less than £15.

The build-your-own balloon arch kits come with everything you need for the assembly process, from tape to special glue dots.

There are tonnes of options, ranging from metallic shades to soft pastels and rainbow brights.

All you need is some free time and lung power - or a balloon pump, of course!

Crafty mum Aimee Turner bought a £14.99 birthday arch kit from Amazon for her daughter's 1st birthday after seeing them used for baby showers on Instagram, and was thrilled with the final results.

Aimee told Tyla: "I was inspired to buy the balloon arch because of seeing pictures on Instagram of people's baby showers and so on, so I thought I'd love one for my little girl's first birthday.

"I really wanted to do my own style and colours so thought I would buy a kit to be able to do it myself rather than copy someone else's.

"I saw the kits and thought, wow, this looks really good and excellent value for money. Just £14.99 from Amazon."

Aimee explained that the balloon package came with everything she needed for the assembly process and was "so easy" to put together.

In total, building the arch took her "roughly two hours."

"The kit came with all the balloons. I'd say around 100, it came with the tape and special glue dots," she said.

"It was so easy to put together, I was surprised how easy it was! I blew up the balloons and pushed the knot end through the holes in the tape, making sure I really bunched up the balloons then once I had all the balloons in place."

"I put the arch up and then used the glue dots to stick some balloons together so you couldn't see the tape. I will be buying one again for my sons birthday. I think they are brilliant."

Thrifty shopper Stephanie Robinson was similarly impressed with her purple, gold and pink balloon arch creation, also from Amazon.

Sharing the showstopper to Facebook, she said: "£14 Amazon balloon arch kit.

"For everyone asking, literally blow up all the balloons (balloon pump would save you time).

This comes with a strip that contains holes that you simply pull the balloons through. I then hung this with 3 suckers!

And it comes with sticky sided tape to stick on extra balloons. Time consuming but so worth the money! Easyyyyy."

Nail technician Molly Coleborn also struck gold (and pink!) with a wallet-friendly sparkly balloon arch for her little girl's 2nd birthday.

Molly told Tyla: "I ordered the pack off amazon for just under £8. It was a kit with everything in it that I needed.

"I did it on my own, I just blew the balloons up different sizes and assembled them on the tape that you get given.

"This is the second I've done for my daughter and it was less stressful doing it alone! A glass of wine helped as well."

These look incredible!
