A woman who struggled to manage her severe acne for nearly a decade has credited a £6 soap for finally curing her spots.
Hanna Muir, from Glasgow, has tried every remedy on the market since she started getting acne at the age of 14, and the only thing that started to make a difference was the contraceptive pill, which she had to come off because of migraines.
The 23-year-old tried changing her diet, as well as a host of antibiotics and topical creams, but when none of them worked, her confidence took a serious knock.
"I always tried to never let my acne affect my confidence, but some days I would redo my makeup again and again to try and reduce how bumpy or dry my skin looked from using too much topical cream," she told the Daily Mail.

"People would sometimes innocently ask 'what's on your face?' and I would try and laugh it off, but feel terrible that it was so noticeable even though I tried so hard to hide it all."
After giving up hope, Hanna decided to try Carbon Theory soap, which costs just £6 from Boots and contains organic tea tree oil and charcoal.
Within days, Hanna noticed a visible improvement in her skin and she couldn't believe that such a cheap product could have such a profound effect.
Hanna's acne began at the age of 14, but came back more aggressively when she came off the pill at the age of 16.

"I was referred to a dermatologist at about 17. I was put on every antibiotic and topical cream they could possibly give me, but nothing was clearing the acne from my face.
"I tried everything from prescribed creams and antibiotics to all the dermatologically approved lotions and potions. I tried silver serum which helped temporarily, but not long-term."
Later on, Hanna's spots became cystic and incredibly sore, but she was reluctant to take the Roaccutane prescribed to her, as the side effects noted depression and suicide.
At her wits end, Hanna read decided to try the £6 soap after reading an article on people claiming it had cured their acne in weeks.

"I thought, 'may as well try it, it's only six quid after all and I doubt it will work if the strongest topical cream can't even clear my acne slightly.'
"But after just three days there was already an improvement. My skin felt smoothed and my complexion had started to clear.
"After four weeks, I noticed such a change. My skin is now better than it has been in years.
