US skin care brand Drunk Elephant only launched in the UK last week but it has already got everyone talking and gained a cult following.

The brand is well known for it's simple yet effective product range and its avoidance of the 'suspicious six' (fragrance and dyes, silicones, drying alcohol, essential oils, chemical screens and SLS).

It was set up by Tiffany Masterson in 2013, who decided to launch the brand after she struggled to find what she wanted to fit the needs of her sensitive, breakout and rosacea prone skin in shops.

The name came from Tiffany's love of the fatty acid and antioxidant rich marula oil, found in much of the Drunk Elephant range apparently elephants love, they drink it via marula fruit straight from the tree and become 'drunk' due to the fermentation of the fruit in their stomachs.

Tiffany calls the products 'clean-clinical' as it uses powerful natural actives and combines them with high quality, extensively researched synthetic ingredients at a healthy pH balance so that the skin can readily utilise and absorb.

The website says: "Drunk Elephant is committed to using only ingredients that either directly benefit the skin's health or support the integrity and effectiveness of our formulations.

"We never take into account an ingredient's synthetic or natural status, but instead choose based on biocompatibility.

"And all their products are designed, tested and made in the United States."

Drunk Elephant also doesn't recognise skin by type, they believe that when skin gets what it needs it will be in balance.

There was a huge waiting list when the product launched on Cult Beauty., but here is a list of some of their most popular products available to buy now.
