Well, fear not, because salons are offering standby appointments for those who missed out, and, as long as you can be pretty flexible with timings, you can even bag a discounted price.
Standby appointments are last-minute bookings after another person cancels - in other words, you're second in line for an appointment.
Because of the nature of the appointment, the bookings are often for treatments at a discounted rate. At Headmasters, for example, appointments can be booked by phoning the salon anytime the same day, or after 3pm if you're looking for a slot for the following morning.
Prices are £33 for women's cut and blow dry or £25 for a blow dry only - all you need to do is quote "standby service" when booking your appointment.
You can find more info on salons here.
Hairdresser chain Rush is also offering standby appointments, which can be booked on the phone or online.
They are only available on select days and at select salons, but you can find more info here.
Of course, being on standby for an appointment isn't always possible, and if a mega last minute appointment doesn't fit your schedule, you can also try Treatwell, which has heaps of hair appointments all available to book from thousands of different salons.
All you need to do is add your treatment (they also offer beauty as well as hair services) location and preferred date, and Treatwell will present you with all the available salons, and times.
You can get started here.
If you don't want to switch up your usual salon, it's always worth giving them a call to see if they also offer standby appointments, or if they're working to a waiting list during this busy period.
Of course, weekday appointments are bound to be more accessible than Saturdays, and a number of salons are also working Mondays to accommodate the high numbers of clients.
A good hair day is coming, guys...
