Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, so the old proverb goes. But a (very important and vital) scientific study has now proved that when it comes to one much discussed facial feature women DO find you more attractive.
In a study conducted by the Journal of Evolutionary Biology, 8,500 women were asked about their preferences when it comes to male facial hair.
The women were shown various photos of men with and without facial hair, and were asked to rate them on 'boyfriend potential'.
In order to ensure fair results, the men in the images were photographed while clean-shaven, five days after shaving, ten days after shaving and four weeks after shaving.

All Of The Women Asked Preferred Men With Facial Hair
In what can only be described as an astounding result, every single woman admitted to preferring the men when they had facial hair.
Most popular were the men with heavy stubble, closely followed by those with full beards, and then those with light stubble.
Explaining the result, researchers said that 'typically male' features like defined jawlines and high testosterone levels are not high on our list of requirements when it comes to finding a partner.

The Study Saw Men With Heavy Stubble Come Out On Top
The study states: "Beards may be more attractive to women when considering long-term than short-term relationships as they indicate a male's ability to successfully compete socially with other males for resources."
Best whack those beard baubles out in time for Christmas, guys!
