Make-Up Artist In Hilarious Fake Tan Fail After Crying Through Movie After Applying It

There's nothing like water to ruin freshly applied fake tan, and one make-up artist ended up with a rather streaky face after sobbing his way through My Sister's Keeper shortly after applying his tan.

Josh Reade had just applied a layer of St Moriz Tanning Mist when he sat down to watch the emotional film. But the 29-year-old, from Surrey, was not prepared for what was to come, and ended up with tears streaming down his face.

Not realising the effect they had on his fresh tan, the make-up artist woke up early the next day to discover the dried tear marks all the way down to his jaw line.

You can watch hilarious footage of Josh discovering the blunder below:

"I was having a little bit of a pamper night and decided to watch My Sister's Keeper - it's a very, very sad film," he said.

"I did the tan, I watched the film and then went to bed. I set my alarm because I was doing a make-up look early in the morning and that's how I woke up with all these tear marks.

"I was so shocked and I was panicking. I was like 'oh my god, what am I going to do?' It was really bad."

Josh made a video and sent it to his friends, who urged him to post it on TikTok - where it racked up a whopping 3.3million views and 51,000 likes and comments.

"I put the tan on an hour before I sat in front of the TV," he continued.

"It says to leave it on for six hours but anyone who's going to use it is just going to sleep in it and wake up in it the next morning.

"It was a six-hour spray mist that turned into a bit of a disaster. I watched the film and had a good cry at it and dabbed my eyes.

"I was grabbing my top and patting my eyes lightly as I knew I'd tanned my face, I must have cried to the point where I was genuinely tired.

"I went to bed, fell asleep and woke up at 4.30am. When I looked at my face in the mirror before I jumped in the shower I just thought 'oh no, it can't be'.

"Me being me I grabbed my phone, it was more of a video for the girls in the group chat and was like 'oh my god what am I going to do?'

"They were all screaming. I showed it to another friend and she had tears rolling down her face. She said it was hilarious and that I should post it on TikTok.

"I posted it and within 15 minutes I had a quarter of a million views. Around 5,000 comments are asking me what tan it is, 2,000 are asking me how and where I got my nails done and then the rest are your average 'you look like a 90-year-old man'.

"I'm one of these people who's always been victimised for being gay and I'm someone who can stand up for myself.

"I've got quite a thick skin so negative comments I don't pay attention to but the majority of the comments were funny."

Most of the streaky marks washed off in the shower, and Josh said the one left behind was easily disguised with foundation and concealer.

"I only had a tiny tear mark left after my shower that thankfully, when I put make-up on, you couldn't see," he added.

"It's not put me off tanning for life. When I washed it off I looked amazing, I looked like I'd been to Morocco for a week."
