These are stressful times right now, so naturally, many of us are looking to unwind and pamper ourselves with a face mask.
But one woman's attempt to give her skin some tender loving care backfired massively when her turmeric face mask left her with a complexion to rival Marge Simpson's.
You can watch (and wince) at the video below.
Lauren Jennie decided to try a DIY mask while suffering from a nasty breakout during lockdown, and was trying to clear up some stubborn spots.
Taking to TikTok, the performing artist told her 16,000 followers: "I'd been breaking out all over my face, but mainly across my lip line, and I really don't want to squeeze them as it's so so sore.
"So me being me, I'm researching ways to get rid of it and help my skin out. And I come across this DIY turmeric face mask that I could literally go downstairs and make right now in my kitchen. So I did."
However, when she finished applying a thick layer of the face mask to her skin, Lauren was left a little worried after she noticed the hand she used to mix the mask had turned yellow.
"When I take this off my face, I am going to resemble the moon," she said, before the camera cuts to her bright yellow complexion post-face mask.
And things only get worse for Lauren, who added she was meant to be going to the supermarket with her parents with her bright yellow face.
"I'm really hoping that make-up is going to cover this," she says, as her sister is heard laughing in the background.
It was only after Lauren scrubbed at her face some more that the yellow tones had calmed down a bit.
"This is the best it's going to get," she said, before giggling some more.
The video, which has since been watched more than a million times, prompted hundreds of comments who found the face mask mishap hilarious.
"I knew as soon as you said turmeric," one said, with a series of stunned emojis.
"Sis really woke up and decided to turn into The Simpsons," chuckled another.
"When you use the moon emoji," quipped a third.
"You went from Donald Trump to I am dying from yellow fever," a fourth joked.
Others did seem to point out Lauren's skin did look clearer.
"Well, at least you have a golden glow," said one, while another added: "Your skin does look great though..."
Either way, we won't be trying this beauty hack in a hurry...
