A woman who suffers with psoriasis has revealed her £8.99 miracle make-up hack - which covers the condition completely.

Lauren Blake, 27, from Scotland, shared rave reviews of the bargain Instant Age Rewind Eraser Treatment Concealer by make-up giants, Maybelline, saying the product covers all her redness.

Psoriasis is a skin condition that causes red, flaky and crusted patches of skin.

These patches are covered with silvery scales and tend to appear on the elbows, knees, scalp and lower back, but can appear anywhere on the body.

The condition is thought to be caused by a problem with the immune system, which causes the human body to produce too many skin cells.

Mum-of-two Lauren revealed that she used to feel insecure about the red patches on her face, after cruel bullies called her names like 'scabby' and 'snake skin'.

But thanks to Maybelline's nifty concealer, the Scot - who lives in Edinburgh - now has more confidence than ever.

Lauren said: "I have psoriasis all over my body but I am insecure about it on my face as people see that first and judge it.

"I used to plaster my face with concealer and foundation but that actually makes it worse as it irritates the skin."

The 27-year-old works as a make-up artist, so she knows a beauty bargain when she sees one.

"As a make-up artist, I know what products are good but you don't always have to splash out on designer brands," she said.

"My psoriasis is really red so I need a yellow concealer to cancel out the red and this one is perfect.

"I only put on a little bit and then blend it in - it's good enough to wear without foundation."

Lauren shared her 'before' and 'after' images to social media and the transformation is incredible, with all traces of her red blotches covered by the natural-looking concealer.

The make-up artist said: "I decided to share a photo of myself with a 'bare' face on social media to show people you don't have to be ashamed of your imperfections.

"I also thought it would be easier to show everyone what I look like without makeup in case I bump into someone at the shops during the lockdown."

Lauren stresses that anyone who suffers with psoriasis should hydrate their skin thoroughly before applying make-up to achieve a smooth and flawless finish.

While the make-up artist full endorses the £8.99 high street brand concealer, she recommends investing in a foundation with a higher price tag for the best overall results.

The wallet-friendly concealer has given Lauren's self-esteem a much-needed boost.

She said: "I'm not perfect and I'm not going to hide who I am nor let it get me down.

"As long as I have good health, my skin is the least of my worries - especially when it can get covered up so easily with makeup.

"I'm not fazed by the psoriasis on my body and neither are other people - I think as long as you are comfortable in your own skin then so are other people."

Atta girl, Lauren. That's one bargainous beauty hack.
