With the UK entering its fourth week of lockdown, people up and down the country are coming up with imaginative ways of keeping themselves and their loved ones entertained.

And one woman from Cornwall has gone viral online after walking her dog in a different fancy dress costume each day.

Professional dancer, Clare Meardon has been stepping out in several different outfits, from a burlesque star to a ballerina and even biblical figure, Eve.

Clare has been walking her pooch, eight-year-old golden Labrador Hendrix, in different costumes ever since the beginning of the month after being dared by a friend.

She even has husband Aidan on hand to do the filming - and he finds the whole thing hilarious.

In a video, Clare can be seen stepping out of the house as a burlesque dancer, complete with fancy red feathers and heels. Even Hendrix is dressed up in a black feather collar. She says: "Darling! I'm going for a walk, come on Hendrix," as she sets off.

Next up, Clare can be seen strolling down the hill dressed as Eve, before appearing again in a ballerina costume. She even manages to walk Hendrix on pointe in her ballet shoes.

Our personal fave is Clare looking like she's ready for a pamper sesh, dressed in towel, shower cap, slippers and a face mask - even Hendrix is covered in a bath towel (although he does lose it half way down the hill).

Other fancy dress costumes include a unicorn and a hilarious take on someone returning from a night out, one heel down, lippy smudged and an empty bottle of prosecco in hand.

"Because I run a dance school, I have a lot of costumes which I make myself," explained Clare, who runs dance, pilates and yoga classes via her business, Savvy Studios.

"We were meant to be having a show in July, so I'd taken them all home to fix ahead of that.

"I was mending the Eve costume, and because it's a stretch fabric it is actually much easier to work with while you are wearing it, so I put it on.

"I realised it would be a really funny photo opportunity, and when I took the snap and sent it to my friends one of them said 'I bet you won't go for a walk like that'. When she said that, how could I not?

"After I posted the first clip online, people said watching it was the highlight of their day and I realised just how much of a bad time a lot of people must be having at the moment and how everyone needed something to laugh about.

"So the next day, I dressed as a ballerina and walked along the pavement in my pointe shoes.

"The hype just built and built from there to post a new video each day. The main thing for me is about making people laugh - laughter is the most important medicine for everyone, now more than ever.

"For me, mental health is as important as physical health - you can have a fantastically fit body, but if your head is full of negativity, you aren't healthy.

"A lot of the characters represent different parts of my personality, and how I might be feeling on that day.

"The superhero costume came from a desire to 'be fierce' and remind women they can be whoever they want to be - they can be sexy and sassy and funny and ridiculous all at once."

If you want to get involved, Clare is running free classes on her Savvy Studios social media pages, to keep followers active during lockdown. We can't wait to see which costumes Clare (and Hendrix) step out in next.
