Little Girl Smothers Herself And Family Sofa In Sudocrem During Lockdown

Every parent will relate to this.

Spending every waking moment with the kids during lockdown has certainly been an interesting experience for parents across the country, to say the least.

Sure, most of the time, some extra bonding with your little one is a blessing.

But then they go and smear sudocream all over themselves and the furniture and you're forced to take a sharp intake of breath and count to 10.

That's actually what happened in one household, as little Elsie, two, was left alone for just a couple of minutes in front of the TV.

But luckily her parents found the whole thing hilarious. We mean, look how cute she looks...

Elsie's mum Georgina Everard, 26, had just nipping upstairs to have shower while her fiance Tom, 30, was in the kitchen baking a cake.

But mere moments later the parents were horrified to find that sneaky tot Elsie had somehow completely covered herself, and the sofa, in a pot of Sudocrem cream.

Ah, kids. You've gotta love 'em.

Mum-of-one Georgina, from St Ives, Cornwall, said: "We put Peppa Pig on the TV as normal to occupy her for a bit while Tom was in the kitchen making a cake for her birthday and I was in the shower upstairs.

"Everything happened in a matter of minutes - I'd just got out of the shower and heard Tom shout me downstairs and I could hear from his voice that something bad had happened.

"When I first saw her and the sofa caked in the cream my heart dropped.

While they were initially taken aback, the parents revealed that it wasn't long before they were able to see the funny side.

"We were both standing there looking at her in shock but her little face was absolutely hilarious, so we actually thought it was quite funny," Georgina said.

"At the same time, being a parent, I didn't want to make it into a joke for her so I did have to tell her that it wasn't a very good thing to do.

"She must have gone into her bedroom on the ground floor and saw the bottom drawer of her cupboard was open, so she used it as a staircase to the top drawer where the Sudocrem was.

"We call it her 'magic cream' and she knows where it's stored, so I guess she decided to have some fun with it and take advantage of the two minutes we were away.

"It was quite out of her reach in the cupboard and we definitely weren't anticipating her using the drawers as a ladder.

Elsie was put in the bath immediately (

"The worst thing was that she put the lid back on the tub after she'd made the mess, as if she didn't want to spill it!"

Still laughing to themselves, Georgina and Tom then had to take little Elsie straight to the bath in an attempt to wipe the thick cream off her, before sorting out the sofa, which was now stained white.

Massage spa owner Georgina took to a Mrs Hinch cleaning page on Facebook for urgent tips on how to shift the substance.

She said: "Her sippy cup sometimes leaves water stains on the sofa and back then I posted on the Hinch group asking for help - I thought that was bad but then this happened!

"Luckily we have insurance on the sofa so when everything goes back to normal we'll be able to get someone to clean it properly.

"I tried washing my hands off but because it's oil based it was just spreading about so I started to worry how I'd get it off Elsie because her whole body was caked in it.

"She loves Frozen, so at one point she was pointing to herself and saying she looked like the snowman character Olaf."

As Georgina spent four hours scrubbing the sofa with washing up liquid to lift the oil, her Facebook post picked up an unexpectedly huge reaction to the hilarious snaps, with over 2000 reactions.

The mum concluded: "It's nice that the post has given people something to smile at during lockdown.

"I showed my mum on FaceTime and she was absolutely bawling in hysterics. Elsie is a real character and has always been a bit cheeky but cute and well-behaved.

"This is probably the worst thing she's ever done but it's been quite laughable in the end."
