We've seen a lot of hilarious haircut fails during coronavirus lockdown, but none have come close to that of Evie the golden retriever.

Poor Evie was accidentally caught by her owner Rachel's clippers as she went to give her partner Joel's facial hair a trim.

And now she's been left looking "like a piggy bank".

Tbh, no words can explain, just look at the poor puppa for yourselves...

LOL.

Evie's unfortunate grooming fail happened after Rachel, from Gloucester, was trying to prove to her one-year-old son Christian that the clippers she was using weren't scary.

Turning to their pooch, Evie, the 25-year-old nail technician held the clippers out in a bid to prove that even she wasn't intimidated by them.

Unfortunately, the excited four-year-old dog decided to jump up at that exact moment and headbutted the clippers...meaning a 1cm chunk of her fur was removed.

The poor mutt was left with a perfect rectangle cut out on top of her head. And, apparently, she was in a mood for the remainder of the evening (we don't blame her!).

Pictures of Evie looking forlorn and alongside a £2 coin have since gone viral, having been shared more than 42,000 times on Facebook.

Rachel said: "Evie has been left with the perfect shape of a piggy bank on the top of her head.

"The clippers just went down and out and took about 1cm of fur off her head. It's created a bit of a layering effect.

"Christian is quite scared of clippers so I was trying to show him it's fine and harmless.

"I pretended to shave the dog and show she didn't fear anything. And that's when she moved her head."

Discussing her dog's reaction to clipper-gate, Rachel recalled: "She was just so bewildered with what happened and looked at me like 'what have you just done'.

"Because I was laughing and crying at the same time, she didn't really know whether to be excited or worried.

"I did have to bribe her with chicken. She was not happy with me all that night until I gave her some chicken, but she's back to her happy little self again today."

If someone did this to our hair, it would take a lot more than some chicken, we'll tell you that much!
