Woman Complains Her Cottage Pie Was Burnt - After Putting It In The Microwave For 45 Minutes
A woman has been ridiculed by Facebook users after complaining about a Sainsbury's cottage pie she'd mistakenly cooked in the microwave for 45 minutes.
Kylie Jarman, 20, from King's Lynn, Norfolk, was set to enjoy the ready meal with sister-in-law Sarah McKown. However after misreading the cooking instructions she placed it in the microwave instead of the oven - then moaned that it was burnt.
Oblivious to her blunder, Kylie shared a picture of her charred dinner on Facebook, blaming Sainsbury's for her gaffe and warning fellow users not to buy the dish.
"Don't buy cottage pie from Sainsbury's as this is what happens when you put it in the microwave for 45 minutes," she commented with a snap of the unappetising mashed meal.
Dozens of social media users were quick to point out her error.
"OMG so dumb," and "45 mins in the microwave, I'm surprised it's not radioactive," they wrote alongside countless laugh-cry emojis.
"I thought it said 45 minutes in the microwave because it had small writing. I did momentarily think it was a little strange when Sarah tapped in '45' on the microwave but we were so tired and hungry neither of us noticed," Kylie told The Sun.
The beefy supermarket meal - that's part of the chain's Basics line - is designed to be cooked in the oven from frozen for 45 minutes or from chilled for 25 minutes.
Kylie's not the first to be left red-faced after a social media mishap this month. 31-year-old Danielle Cains from Wigan in Greater Manchester recently shared her horror at discovering she'd accidentally sent a picture of her burnt bottom to a carpet company.
After overdoing it on a sunbed, she had meant to send the snap to a new partner but shared it with Carpets At Home instead.
