Greggs Is Launching 'GIY' Classes

We love you, Greggs.

Greggs has launched a series of baking tutorials called GIY (Greggs It Yourself, obvs) - and honestly, it's life changing.

While we're unable to get our Greggs fix due to lockdown, we've been dreaming of sausage rolls and fantasising over cheesy bakes. We took them for granted, and we're sorry.

But, Greggs has done us all a favour by launching GIY, where they talk customers through how to make the delicious baked goods at home.

First up in the video tutorial is Greggs' sausage, cheese and bean melt. Just seeing a picture of the tasty pastry is too much for us. We are drooling.

Luckily, Greggs has marked it as a 'chef level easy' meaning it should be straightforward enough even for the beginners among us.

You'll need 'beans and bangers', which we've definitely got in the cupboard somewhere, cheese, puff pastry and an egg. Sounds simple so far.

Next up, cut two squares of pastry, egg washing the edges of each with a brush. Then, squash/gently mash your beans with a fork, before placing the sausage and bean mix onto one piece of the pastry.

Sprinkle on a heavy dose of cheese, before placing the second sheet of pastry on top, forking the outside edges and brushing all over with egg.

Chuck it in the over for 20 minutes at a temperature of 180 degrees celsius - or until golden brown.

Now, for the best bit. Remove from the oven, allow to cool for a couple of mins and dig in to the tomatoey, cheesy sausage delight.

So far, fans have been going wild for GIY, with many taking to the comments section on Facebook to suggest the next culinary tutorial.

Some asked for a how to guide on making a chicken bake, while others asked for vegan options and sausage rolls.

We literally wouldn't miss this for the world, so whatever Greggs chooses to bake for us next, we'll be tuning - and tucking - in.
